HYPERHIDROSIS
TREATMENT

Axillary Hyperhydrosis

Axillary hyperhidrosis, also known as excessive underarm sweating, can be effectively treated using  injections. These injections temporarily blocks the nerve signals responsible for sweat production in the treated area. When injected into the underarms, it can significantly reduce excessive sweating and provide relief for several months. Here’s how the procedure is typically done:

  1. Consultation: The process begins with a consultation with Dr Gad. During the consultation, you’ll discuss your concerns, medical history, and the impact of excessive sweating on your daily life.

  2. Assessment: Dr Gad will assess the severity of your hyperhidrosis and the specific areas affected. He may perform a starch-iodine test, which helps identify the areas with the most sweat glands.

  3. Injection: Once the assessment is complete, Dr Gad will use a very fine needle to do the injections after numbing the underarm area. The injections are administered evenly, targeting the sweat glands in the area. The injections work by blocking the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which stimulates sweat production.

  4. Results: The effects of the treatment are not immediate but usually become noticeable within a few days to a week after the procedure. The underarms should become significantly drier, and the results can last for several months, often ranging from four to six months or longer.

  5. Follow-Up: Dr Gad recommend a follow-up appointment to assess the results and determine if additional injections are needed.

Key benefits of using Botox for axillary hyperhidrosis include:

  • Significant reduction in excessive sweating in the treated area.
  • Minimally invasive procedure with little to no downtime.
  • Relief from the discomfort and social anxiety associated with excessive underarm sweating.
  • Long-lasting results, typically lasting for several months.

This treatment is subject to an initial face to face consultation with Dr Gad. He can assess your unique needs, discuss potential risks and side effects, and ensure that the treatment is tailored to your specific concerns. Additionally, he can discuss proper aftercare and follow-up recommendations to maintain the benefits of the treatment.
